Summers ago, I imagine lovers sat on this bench and watched their children play. They held hands and enjoyed the moment.

They talked about their hopes, and dreams, and fears. Their future was ahead of them. They had all the time in the world.

But little by little, as the leaves grew and then fell, they visited this bench less and less. Then, they stopped altogether and visited no more.

This bench has many stories to tell and is imbued with the love and laughter of those who lingered.

If it could it would warn us that in a blink, life will pass by so quickly that we soon won’t want to sit idly on a bench and dream. It would tell us to pause. It would invite us to sit and to be still and just breathe.

Remember to take a moment today to be thankful for the time you have. Sit on your own bench. Pause, reflect, and breathe deeply of the moment.
