I used to be a much better writer (I think). Then I stopped writing. Then when I wanted to write, I didn’t think I was very good – so I didn’t write.
Then I got too busy. Too tired. Too uninspired.
But the truth is if we want to be better at anything, we have to do more of that thing regardless of all of the excuses that prevent us from just doing.
If I want to be a better runner, I have to run more. It doesn’t matter if I feel heavy, slow, or it hurts.
If I want to be a better cook, I have to cook more. It doesn’t matter if it’s burnt or tastes awful.
And if I want to be a better writer, I have to just write more. It may not always be good or game-changing and sometimes it may just plain suck.
That’s OK.
If I just write, I will improve through the process.
What do you want to get better at? Go do it.
